Frequently Asked Questions
What sort of things can Lifeform Financial Coaching help me with?
Lifeform offers financial coaching and counselling. I do not manage investments or sell insurance or investment products like mutual funds. Financial coaching and counselling can help you understand more about your finances and your options, such as investing, budgeting, setting goals, and planning for the next stage in your life, whether that’s buying a home, planning a wedding, starting a family or retirement. Financial coaching and counselling also helps people who find that there’s a habit or behaviour that is standing in their way of reaching their financial goals, such as overspending, having trouble sticking to a budget, avoiding their credit card statements and bank accounts, or acting out of a scarcity mindset.
How does a financial coach get paid?
With a financial counsellor or coach, you pay a fee for our time, and that’s all. I do not sell any products, make commissions, or earn a percentage of any of your investments. You just pay for my time.
I just need to ask someone some questions about my financial situation. Is that something a financial counsellor can help with?
Yes, if you need someone to discuss your big picture financial situation, offer advice on your options, and help you get a handle on your cash flow, a meeting with a financial counsellor is a good fit.
How many sessions of financial coaching will I need?
This really depends on why you are looking for a financial coach. In many cases, clients just book one or two sessions if they have something straightforward that they want to learn more about or create a plan for. Sometimes clients are looking for ongoing accountability or have a more complicated situation they need help with, and I usually meet with those clients once a month.
I need someone to manage my investments. Is this something that you do?
No, I do not manage investments or sell any investment products like mutual funds or insurance. However, I can review your investments with you to help you understand your returns, risk level and fees that you might be paying. And we can also talk about what investment options and types of accounts might be the best fit for you.
